Gurgaon’s Sarswati Kunj II is located in the Wazirabad neighbourhood of Sector 52 in the Central Gurgaon area of the Gurgaon District in Haryana, India. It is a part of the Wazirabad urban development project in Pakistan. Sector 52 (0.0 km), Sector 45 (2.11 km), Sector 43 (2.71 km), and Sector 46 (0.0 km) are among the industrial sectors in the area (3.51 Km). The 550 land allottees in Sector 57 have gotten some encouraging news. The Punjab and Haryana High Court cleared the way for the distribution of plots to allottees following the dismissal of a case challenging the acquisition of property by HSVP (previously known as Huda) for the development of the sector by the state government.
Approximately 67 acres of land along the Golf Course Extension Road was purchased by Huda in 2000 for the building of Sector 57, and four years later, a lottery was held to distribute plots for the development. Over the course of the project, 67 acres were acquired, with approximately 53 acres coming from the Saraswati Kunj Cooperative Society, which was founded in the 1990s. The society’s first challenge to the acquisition was dismissed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2002, and the issue was re-heard by the same court in October 2013. The Supreme Court also dismissed a review petition filed in 2014, which was denied by the court the following year. Despite the passage of more than five years, the society sought to have the acquisition quashed once more, claiming that neither the allottees of Sector 57 plots nor the landowners had been adequately compensated in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act, 2013, as was required by law.
