Badusarai is a village located in district Faridabad Haryana India. It has a rich history that dates back to the 16th century when a Sufi saint named Mehersingh established the village. Since then the village has seen a significant growth and expansion with its population now standing at around ten thousand.
The village is home to a number of religious and cultural institutions including three chaupals one Dada Syed worship place one panchayat ghar three ponds one community center and three temples. There is also a public school up to the fifth standard as well as a private school Jigyasa.
The Sangwan family has played a key role in the development of the village. The family has been living in the village since the 16th century and their members have served as the village’s Pradhan over the years. Chaudhary Rambakhsh Sangwan was the first and Chaudhary Atarsingh Sangwan was the last.
The population of the village has also been boosted by the arrival of two families in the 19th century: the Gaud Brahmin family who came from Dhaulawas in 1827 and the Jogi (Kadayan) family who came from Bhondunath in the same year. These families have since become integral parts of the village’s community.
Thanks to all these families and their contributions the village of Badusarai has grown from strength to strength and is now a thriving community.
The Sangwan family has made a great contribution in increasing the population of the village. The 9th generation of Chaudhary Rambakhsh Sangwan, Rambaksh, was the father of Bhura, who in turn was the father of Lalsingh. Lalsingh was the father of Bohdu, who was the father of Prattar. Prattar was the father of Bhanidas and Pema, who both had a son, Jagroop, and a son named Dhanna. Dhanna had two sons, Fatehsingh and Sitaram, and Fatehsingh had a son named Maharam. Jagroop had two sons, Moji, Harisingh and Jora. Moji was the father of Ratiram, who had two sons, Amarsingh and Bahadur Singh.
Bahadur Singh was married into the Kuhad gotra in Majri village of Haryana. To ensure that his children kept the Sangwan family name, Bahadur Singh adopted two sons from his brother-in-law, Chaudhary Parsuram Kuhad. These two sons were Mukhram and Netram and Bahadur Singh stipulated that in exchange for raising his sons, they would have to change their gotra from Kuhad to Sangwan. They accepted this condition and from Mukhram, Kanhaiya was born, from Kanhaiya Shriram, from Shriram Mangeram, and from Mangeram were born three sons, Mukhtayar, Omprakash, and Satis. Netram had a son named Phulu, who had a son named Paltu. Paltu had a son named Atarsingh, who had four sons, Jagdish, Jageram, Satis and Sushil.
Phulu also took in Ramprasad, the son of Jasram Rawat and a resident of Bhanangpur (Ballabhgarh), into his home. From Ramprasad, Gangasahay was born, who was the father of Shivlal. Shivlal had a son named Sultan, who was the father of Mahasingh, Banwari, Mirsingh, Balbir and Umprakash. This is how the Sangwan family has grown in the village and contributed to its population.
In 1827 AD, a Gaud Brahmin family from the ruling dynasty of Digdhalia, of the Rishi gotra of Bharadwaj, made the journey to Badusarai. The family tree of this remarkable family can be traced all the way back to Tulsiram, and his son Chhajuram. From Chhajuram, the line can be seen to have split in two, with Jeevanram and Harsahay being the respective sons. From Harsahay, the family had three sons, Mohanlal, Bhagmal and Inchharam. The line then continues on to Bhagmal’s three sons, Ramsharan, Lekhram and Deshram. From Inchharam, there were two sons, Indraj and Hukmchand. From Ramratan, the sons were Hardayal, Shivlal (Shyolal) and Udayaram. From Shivlal, there were three sons, Dhaniram, Natthan and Arjun.
The family tree then continues from Dhaniram, with his three sons Budhram, Ramkishan and Phoolsingh, and his fourth son Munshiram. From Munshiram’s father, Naundaram (Nanagh), the sons were Chainsukh, Hadrayam, Mukhram and Mohanram. From Mohanram, there was Chunna, who had two sons, Chelu and Shriram. From Shriram there were two sons Kundanlal and Jaynarayan. From Mukhram there were two sons, Nekiram and Deepa. From Deepa there were two sons, Ratanlal and Manphool. Finally, Lakshman had adopted Hardayal, who had two sons, Ramjilal Prabhu and Jaggan. This family currently lives in Rewari Haryana.
Ramlal and Ganeshi were from the Jogi (Kadayan) family of Bhondunath. Bholaram and Ramswaroop were from Ramlal’s family while Shersingh and Suratsingh were from Ganeshi’s. Rajendra Ravindra and Ranbir were the children of Shersingh and Jagdish Kapursingh and Randhir were the children of Ramswarup. Atarsingh was a son of Suratsingh while Balwan Singh Surajprakash Rajkaran and Ishwar Singh were Bholaram’s children. Finally Bhim Singh and Subhash were from Omprakash’s family.
